Sharon Zucker - 1989-90

I am Sharon Zucker (not Inga, not Helga, not Fifi) from Switzerlan (not from Sweden, not from Germany!).

The year I spent in Oberlin was one of the greatest times I've ever had! At the beginning, I was scared to stand alone without anybody to be my friend and to help me through the year. When I look back now, I can laugh about those thoughts. I met so many nice, funny, lovely, beautiful, scary , strange people who were there for me when I needed them.I also learned a lot about myself. I feel free now to do what I want without being concerned what other people might think about me. It is also important to be open to new things and new customs. Otherwise, I wouldn't have made it through the year.

I want to say thanks to all the teachers who helped me during this past year. And you guys from OHS, I'm going to miss you when I'm back in Europe! I hope to see some of you sometimes, somewhere!"Bye, you!"

my name is sharon zucker. i'm from switzerland and i was an exchange student at oberlin high in 1989/1990. i lived with barbara and tom kenney and their children meghan, franny and brian.
it was one of the greatest years in my life and i'm glad afs made it
possible for me to come to oberlin.


i'd be very glad if you could put me on the exchange-students-list with my email-address so that maybe some people of my class will find me again. unfortunately, i've lost contact to a lot of them..
