2002: Although I am technically an '81 grad, I know that I belong with the Class of '82 and am psyched that I made it on the reunion list. Graduating early just means I can tell you what I have been doing for the last 21 years instead of 20. Don't worry, I will make this brief. In '82 I spent the year in Medellin, Colombia (in case you were wondering why I didn't show up to home room). Besides learning Spanish, I developed a love for travel and adventure. I have visited many of the continents for both work and pleasure and have lived in Costa Rica, Mexico, Boston, and Chicago (my new home as of April). Chicago is a great city, except that I have to listen to news about the White Sox and the Bears. I just returned from Australia where I saw Bron (Stephens) Orr. Remember her? She was the exchange student that stayed with us our Jr. year. She has 3 great kids and still remembers Oberlin fondly. I work for a UK based localization company. My new role has me back on the East Coast frequently as well as to Ohio. So, I have the best of all worlds at the moment: I live in a great city and get to visit friends and family often. On the family front - the Andrews' family has grown since '82: I now have gobs of nieces and nephews and try my best to be the favorite Aunt when I see them in Oberlin. I'm still a swingin' single (of course, with age, the swingin' is much slower). I look forward to seeing everyone in November. Cheers, |
