Moved to Oberlin in '57, in the middle of the 10th grade, and somehow managed to get out in '60. The family moved to Vermilion in '61.
Started pursuing college but it was faster than I was. Long Island U. in '61, Kent State in 62', LCCC with AAS in Chemical Technology in '67; My career started as a chemist in plating then switched into chemist and formulator in electrocoating, moving into technical service in the same field; I had been at Mobil Chemical, Farbwerke Hoescht, and Sherwin-Williams, at this point, was married and had two children.
We had lived in Cleveland, Detroit, and Chicago. I had been chugging along at night school at Cleveland State, U of Mich., and Purdue. I then took an offer to come back 'home' to work at Ford in Avon Lake as a Paint Engineer. We moved to Grafton While at Ford, I managed to finish night school and got a BS in Ind. Mgmt in '80 (magna cum laude), and I also got back into 'ham' radio. I've been enjoying it since.
I got laid off from Ford after 4 years, and went to Glidden as a Product Manager of electrocoat While at Glidden, I got divorced after 18 years, and married Sharon 'the curly redhead". Glidden went through the buyout/merger/sell off cycles, and after 16 years with them I wound up working for Lilly Industries, which I didn't care for. So I completely switched careers after a couple of years with them, and went into the Ultrafiltration and Reverse Osmosis field as a Technical Service Manager, for PTI Advanced Filtration, I have now been in that field for 3-1/2 years, and living north of Atlanta. I may be moving back to Ohio this spring, as the company wants a new facility up there.. I'm leaning towards the Toledo area.
Sharon and I have 5 children between us, and now 9 grandchildren. They are all in the Grafton, North Ridgeville, Wakeman, New London, and Berlin Heights areas. Sharon is an Office Manager at a printing company
Our hobbies include: the radios, drag and road racing (yep-still), beachcombing, and watching hockey and Bear our dog.
