To think about the last 40 years of one’s life is rather interesting. When you might think - time goes slowly – try looking back and not say "Were did it go?". Ardyn and I have 7 children – 4 girls (his) and 3 boys (ours) and 13 grandchildren.
Since this is to be ‘my’ bio, I will try to focus on that. I have been married to Ardyn for 32 years. We lived in Findlay, OH for 5 years when we first married, then Yunker, Ct. in Elyria for 15 years and in our present home for 12 years. We were in the milk hauling business for 27 years. I say ‘we’ because it was very time consuming for both of us.
I would like to tell of the most meaningful part of my life. That was when I went to a Billy Graham Crusade in 1972 and embraced Christ Jesus as my personal Savior. Since that time I have been very involved in serving Him through Bible study with other women at our church.
My most rewarding service was when I was able to be a part of three separate missionary short-term trips. 1st was of service to many flood victims in Iowa. I was part of a work team that went in and stripped houses of wet drywall and installed new. 2nd trip was to the Ivory Coast in Africa. I spent one month there with a group from the Church of the Open Door. We assisted the natives in building a church that they were unable to do, because of lack of ingenuity. 3rd trip was to San Paulos, Brazil. We were there for 3 weeks at a church camp that catered to the poor street children. The camp was in bad need of repairs. Our group was able to accomplish much for them. I pray I have the opportunity to go on one or two more short term mission trips. Such wonderful memories.
Now that Ardyn and I are retired, we winter in Sebring, Fl. We have a place there that enables us to get lots of sun in the winter months. I / we keep very busy keeping up with our place on Butternut Ridge.
Thanks for letting me share this with you.
