Linda and her husband John have 2 children; Thomas Haines and Laurie Ann. As a family we do a great deal of skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer. John and I also enjoy tennis and gardening (both flower and vegetable). John is a Lending Officer at Massachusetts Mutual Live Insurance Co. He also serves on several Community Boards of Directors. I am presently the president of the Board of Managers of the Springfield Day Nursery Corporation – a corporation with ¾ million dollar budget running seven day car centers in the inner city of Springfield. It’s been a really interesting and challenging
experience. After graduation I attended Ohio Wesleyan University where I majored in Psychology and Elementary Ed.
There I made the best decision of my life, which was to marry my husband, John Lippincott who was in the class ahead of me. We were married the summer of '64 then moved to Philadelphia where I taught third graders while John completed his MBA at Wharton. From Philly we moved to Wilbraham, MA and from then on we seemed to continue yo-yoing between Philly and the Northeast following job opportunities in corporate investments - living in Valley Forge, PA, then Simsbury, CT, then Gladywne, PA, and now for the last 2 years outside of Boston. During those years I was a teacher, an office manager, the board Chairman of a large social agency, and an advertising manager - but mainly a wife and a mother.
Of all the things we have accomplished, I am most proud of my children and the fine adults and fabulous parents they have become. What a joy to no longer be "the warden" or "the boss" and to become friends with ones kids. Our two children are married - Tom (33) has 2 daughters- 3 and 4 ½ and Laurie (30) has a daughter 2 ½. Isn't it great to be grandparents?!
Interests: Gardening (including growing orchids), biking, golf, downhill skiing, reading and painting. Favorite trips: 6 day rafting trip through the Grand Canyon & biking in France.
Future: John will retire in about 4 years. We plan to stay here in the Boston area where we're less than 2 hrs. from our kids and grandchildren and 2 hrs. from our 2nd home in Wellfleetl, Cape Cod. Hope to still be skiing at 70 when the lift tickets are free.
