There's so much that has happened in my life over the last 50 yrs that I don't know where to start, but here goes. We have been married for 46 yrs and had six children of which five are living. We lost a 20yr. of son in a car-train accident back in 1978. This was the worst experience in our lives. We have 11 grands and 4 greats with 3 more greats coming before the end of the year. After graduating high school, I attended the Oberlin School of Commerce and followed Linell Holloway Walker into a secretarial job at Oberlin College. I did secretarial/clerical work for about 15 yrs and then took a job at General Motors as an assembler for 21yrs. I went back to college and went into social work; working as a houseparent at Green Acres in Oberlin for almost five years until caring for delinquent children became too much for me. I am now a receptionist/information/referral/social worker for the county at the senior center here in Elyria which is my "dream" job. It has been more rewarding than any job I have had.
We have three children living in Sioux Falls, S. Dak., one in Maryland and one in Lorain. Oh, we live in Elyria and have been here for about 20 yrs. I very seldom get to Oberlin although I have family and many friends there. My life is very serene at this point and it is spent working 33 hrs a week, attending church and keeping in contact with my family. My health is exceptionally good considering the many classmates we have lost. I attribute all of this to a deep faith in God and doing all I can to help those less fortunate.
