After graduation I lived & worked at various non-descriptive office jobs in Cleveland. All interesting & learned something from each. Married in 1955 & became a stay-at-home housewife & mother for thirteen years in PA. Have four children, Cindy 45, teaches Family & Consumer Sciences (formerly known as Home Ec.) in Titusville, PA. She's fearless & dares to tread where angels fear to tread! She has a daughter Ellie who is taking lessons from her Mom, she is my first grandchild. Julia, 43, married & an attorney's assistant in Boston, MA, no children, just their dog Dexter. She's my world traveler. Marcy, 40, happily single! Office manager of a camp ground in Grove City, PA., she's a deep thinker & an analyzer. Matt, 39, married with two children, Matty, 5 & Evelyn, 2. He is a financial planner for SBA at Clarion College, lives in Oil City, PA. He's very practical & conventional. He's a more "hands on" Dad & husband than was generally the case in our generation & it's a delight to behold!
I was divorced in 1969, moved back to the Cleveland area, ended up with a federal government job with the labor department. Moved to Naples, FL in 1981, love everything about it----hot, humid weather suits me! Held many, many different jobs, never liked getting in a rut. I guess I'm a Jill of all trades but master of none! Remarried in 1988. Now retired & spending my time reading, swimming, yoga meditation & dabbling in the art of Reiki healing. Also love to shop for treasures in thrift stores & at garage sales! Never did pursue my dream of becoming a singer & dancer, maybe in my next lifetime!
About six years it was diagnosed that I was in the beginning stages of macular degeneration. At the present time the medical field knows very little about the cause, treatment or cure for this malady. Change in diet, vitamin supplement, acupuncture, massage therapy & Reiki are my self-prescribed treatments. My eyesight is slowly but surely improving!
Of my four sisters, three graduated from OHS. Doris, '46, lives in the Cleveland area, Kathy, '48 & Anna Mae, '51 are both living in the Seattle, WA area. Anna Mae does keep in touch with friends from Oberlin & I occasionally get "tidbits" from her! The "grapevine" is still in operation! Our baby sister Barbara was raised by an aunt & uncle but we have all kept in close contact throughout the years. She is married, has no children & lives in the Cleveland area.
