After graduation I joined the USAF and spent almost nine years of my life with the service paying my room and board. I had the pleasure of having two remote area tours of duty overseas. One was in Alaska (they considered Alaska overseas back then) and the other on the northern island of Japan. Also with the compliments of the service, I have had higher education at Syracuse University and San Angelo State (Texas) plus numerous service training schools.

I was discharged in 1962 and returned to this area. I then worked as a automotive mechanic for a number of years. I got tired of getting my hands dirty, and then became a Service Manager and sometimes Parts Manager in various new car dealerships in this area and in the Erie, PA area. I finally retired this year so I can spend more time annoying my wife.

In 1956, I was introduced to a wonderful woman (by a good service friend???) and we were married. We have four children, one boy and three girls, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. They all live within thirty or so miles of us, and our home will always be home to them.

I am presently involved in our church in various positions including the choir (can't believe I can sing after all these years) and one of the Vision leaders for the construction of our new church.
