News release (by Gene Presti): The OHS class of 1952 had their 50 year reunion the weekend of May 31-June 2, beginning with a bar-b-que at the Oberlin Inn Friday evening. Friday afternoon there was a tour of the present high school and the "old high school" (Langston Middle School), followed by a bus tour on Saturday of Oberlin and old homesteads.
The group gathered at Presti's Saturday evening for dinner and snippets of class and local history, presented by class officers Keith Williams and George Peabody. The weekend was topped off Sunday morning with brunch at the Inn, after which most everyone departed for their homes, vowing to do it again in five years.
The entire weekend was planned and organized by Martha Lawall Warnock and Louise Simpson Hendry, both of California. (Ah, the wonders of the internet)
Thirty-one of the thirty-eight survivors of the class were joined by three others of the original class, who graduated from other schools. They came from all over the country, and a good time was had by all!!! Four grads couldn't attend and three others could not be located.
