COMMENTS:  Traveled to over 50 major countries of the world, including China, Russia, Germany and Japan.  I find that the USA is by far the best.  Played football for the undefeated `54 Carnegie Tech team and for the all-service championship with the Pensacola Navy team in `55 in the San Diego Coliseum.  Climbed Mt. Rainier  14,410-ft. at age 60 with my college roommate. Sailed from New Zealand to Hawaii on a 60-ft. sailboat in the spring of `98.  Scuba dived the sunken Japanese fleet at Truk Lagoon in the So. Pacific.

After OHS attended Hiram College for 3yrs. Participating in football, basketball, and track.  Worked in the Revenna Arsenal at night loading munitions for the Korean War.  Met and married Nedra Kingzett at Hiram in 1952, we eloped.  Transferred to Carnegie Tech  in Pittsburgh PA.. Graduated in 1955 with a BA in math and a BS in mechanical engineering. Immediately on graduation I entered the Marine Corps and went  to flight school where I earned my wings as a Naval Aviator. Spent the next 3  years in Marine Jet fighter Squadron  VMF-333, with time aboard the aircraft carrier USS Forestall.  The first two of our four children were at the courtesy of Uncle Sam.  Worked for Union Carbide Chemical Co. in Charleston West Va. as a research engineer for the first 6 years of employment. Transferred to Celanese Corp. in Charlotte NC  in 1966.  Moved through numerous jobs and locations in the Celanese organization advancing to a vice president in 1980.  Managed several different divisions of the corporation over the next ten years with extensive worldwide exposure including the Far East and Russia.  Made 12 trips to China in 1989 and 1990 developing a joint venture company with the Chinese Government.  I retired in 1991 and will stay put in Greenville SC.  I also retired from the Air National Guard after some 22 years of flying experience and over 5000 pilot hours. Needless to say that we all have become dyed-in-the-wool southerners. Our fun family vacations are skiing in the Rocky Mountains-sailing in the Virgins Islands and diving in the Caribbean.  Life has been very good to us here in the South and we extend you-all an invitation to drop by and visit us in Greenville at any time.

With the exception of Dave Gamble and Fou Linder, I have had very little contact the OHS gang until the 45th reunion.  That was a real treat and I look forward  to the BIG 50th with great anticipation.
